Aug 26, 2020 · Hey all, I'm working on my friend's Sunbird 170ss with an Evinrude 88 SPL outboard. The boat was working fine and then one day he tried to start it and it just wouldn't start. Pull the small primer hose off the hose barb on the top of the top carb. Turn the key to on, and push in on the key. If fuel pulses out of the end of the hose, the solenoid is working.
